John Conyers has officially lost all my respect, and I think justifiably so, the respect of much of the progressive community in this increasingly hopelessly fascistic country.
I just got done reading an article on Common Dreams that included video of John Conyers being questioned by Veterans for Peace (http://www.veteransforpeace.org/), and his utter infantile fear of actually doing what ONLY he and the ranking member of the appropriate committee is maddening!

There comes a time, even in this badly misguided country, when we - the wretched ones, the ones with no power, no money and no influence - have to simply stand up in the face of the outlandish weaknesses of our leaders and stop them from destroying everything we have built with our own blood sweat and tears. We must let loose our chains and demand our country back, no matter how frightening it might be.
